In 2019 two books from the library of Ruth Bachenheimer could be returned.

Ruth Bachenheimer was born on 1 March 1905 in Wesermünde. She is the second child of the married couple Solomo(n) Bachenheimer and Fanny, née Oppenheimer. In 1937 Ruth Bachenheimer started an internship in the home of the Jewish Women's Association in Neu-Isenburg to become a kindergarten teacher. From there she was deregistered to Bad Nauheim and worked in the Jewish old people's home. On 30 September 1942 she was deported from Darmstadt and presumably murdered in Treblinka. Ruth's brother Hermann Otto had tried in vain to arrange the emigration of Ruth and Fanny to the United States.

No conclusions can be drawn about the accession of the volumes; they were part of unprocessed stock and do not contain any indications of the supplier or intermediate owners. The books were handed over to the Leo Back Institute in New York at the family's request.
