Raoul Fernand Jellinek-Mercedes was born on June 18, 1888 in Algiers and was a writer in Vienna. After he had already been forced to emergency sales, he committed suicide on February 10, 1939 under the pressure of persecution by the Nazi regime.
The book was acquired by the Amerika Gedenkbibliothek by incorporating the stock of the Wissenschaftliche Zentralbibliothek Dahlem, which had been founded in 1949.
