Ludwig Ruschin

In 2012 a book from the library of Ludwig Ruschin could be returned.
Ludwig Ruschin, born on 10 March 1898 in Żnin, came from a family of cantors. Ruschin was cantor and teacher at a Berlin synagogue. In 1943 he was deported to Auschwitz and murdered there.
The book was acquired from a depot of the Reich Main Security Office (Reichssicherheitshauptamt - RSHA) at Eisenacher Str. 11-13 in Berlin Schöneberg. The RSHA had collected looted books from all over Europe there. Some of these books were distributed to libraries in Berlin by the Salvaging Office ("Bergungsstelle") after the end of World War II in 1945.
