Lodge "Phoebus Apollo" Güstrow
In 2014, a book from the library of the Masonic Lodge Phoebus Apollo in Güstrow could be returned to the lodge.
The St. John’s Lodge was founded in Güstrow in 1805. In 1935, like all German Masonic lodges, it was forcibly dissolved. It was re-established in 1996.
The book came from a depot of the Reich Security Main Office (Reichssicherheitshauptamt, RSHA) at Eisenacher Str. 11–13 in Berlin-Schöneberg. The RSHA had gathered looted books from all over Europe there. After the end of the war in 1945, parts of these books were distributed by the Salvage Office (Bergungsstelle) to libraries across Berlin.
