Lodge "Friedrich zu den 3 Quellen" Bad Pyrmont

Stamp: "Frmr.-Kränzchen "Friedrich zu den drei Quellen" Bad Pyrmont"

In 2017, a book from the library of the “Friedrich zu den Drei Quellen” Masonic lodge in Bad Pyrmont could be returned.

The lodge Friedrich zu den Drei Quellen was founded in Bad Pyrmont in 1776. The lodge was dissolved and expropriated by the Nazis in 1935. It was revived between 1945 and 1948.

The book was incorporated into the collection of the Berlin City Library (Berliner Stadtbibliothek, BStB) in 1958 as a “gift”; the supplier is simply noted as “Reserve”. Presumably, like numerous other books from Masonic libraries, this volume was added to the BStB's collection immediately after the end of the war in 1945/46 via an allocation from the Salvage Office for Academic Libraries (Bergungsstelle für wissenschaftliche Bibliotheken).

The ZLB extends its sincere thanks to the German Museum of Freemasonry in Bayreuth for its support in facilitating this restitution.
