Jüdisch-akademischer Philosophenverein, Wien
In 2015, a book from the library of the Jewish Academic Philosophical Society (Jüdisch-akademischer Philosophenverein) of Vienna was returned to its legal successor, the Jewish Community of Vienna.
The association had been founded in Vienna in 1909 but was forcibly dissolved in 1938 by the Vienna Liquidation Commissar (Stillhaltekommissar Wien), and its assets, including the library, were confiscated.
It has not yet been conclusively established how the looted book came to be in Berlin and how it was added to the ZLB’s collection.
