Exlibris of Hermann and Rose Simon
In 2012 a loose ex-libris of Hermann Simon and Rose Simon (née Weinberg) could be returned to the heir, Dr. Hermann Simon. Dr. Simon subsequently gave it to the ZLB as a permanent loan.
The ex-libris was part of the Berlin City Library's ex-libris collection, the route of access into the collection is unclear. It was designed by Erich Büttner.
In 2016, the Hamburg State and University Library was able to identify further objects by Hermann and Rose Simon in its holdings and return them, see this detailed report by provenance researcher Anna von Villiez on the library's blog. (in German)
