Hermann Otto Bachenheimer

Hermann Otto Bachenheimer's exlibris

In 2019 an ex-libris of Hermann Otto Bachenheimer could be returned.

Hermann Otto Bachenheimer was born on 20 September 1898 as the first child of Salomo(n) Bachenheimer and Fanny, née Oppenheimer. In 1935 he lived in Frankfurt am Main and emigrated from there to the United States. He became a US citizen and married Eva Hepner in New York City on 26 May 1939. Otto Hermann Bachenheimer tried in vain to arrange the emigration of his mother Fanny and his sister Ruth to the United States. He died in New York in September 1972.

The ex-libris was part of the ex-libris collection of the Berlin City Library, the access route to the collection is unclear. It was handed over to the Leo Back Institute in New York at the family's request.
