In 2015 a book from the library of Edith Lina Peter née Hirsch could be returned.
Edith Lina Hirsch was born on 21 December 1902 in Berlin. In 1928 she married the merchant Wilhelm Karl Peter. She was deported to Riga from Berlin on 13 January 1942 as was her brother Werner Hirsch. Werner was murdered in Riga, Edith Lina was transported to the concentration camp Stutthof in October 1944 and murdered there.
The access route of the volume to the holdings of the Central and State Library is unclear and could not be traced. The object was found in unprocessed depot holdings of the Berlin City Library.
The ZLB would like to thank the Foundation New Synagogue - Centrum Judaicum for their support in returning this item. At the request of the heirs, the book was handed over to the library of the Centrum Judaicum.
