Deutscher Transportarbeiter-Verband

Stamp: Property of the German Transport Workers Association Berlin Michaelkirchplatz 2

In 2019 a book from the stock of the union library could be returned to ver.di.

All free trade unions, including the Deutsche Transportarbeiterverband, were smashed on 2 May 1933, their buildings, possessions and their assets confiscated.

The Deutsche Transportarbeiterverband Berlin had already merged with other associations to form a "General Association" in 1929. After the Second World War, the organisational areas were taken over by the Gewerkschaft öffentliche Dienste, Transport und Verkehr (ÖTV). In 2001, the ÖTV trade union merged into the ver.di trade union.

The book comes from the Kuczynski collection. How the book came into the collection after the Second World War can no longer be clearly traced.
