In 2017 a book from the library of Bernhard Benno Krisch could be returned.

Bernhard Krisch was born on 7 April 1875 in Inowrocław. He owned a textile factory in Spandauer Str. 11 and was a textile wholesaler. Since 1908 he was married to Hedwig Krisch née Crohn, the couple remained childless. Bernhard Krisch died on 4 July 1933 in Berlin, his grave is on Weißensee Jewish Cemetery.

Hedwig Krisch took over her husband's company after his death and managed it until it had to be sold under duress in 1938. In 1939 Hedwig married the shoe manufacturer Erich Senger. From 1943 to 1945, the couple survived the Holocaust by living in illegality in Berlin and Horst on the Baltic Sea. Hedwig and Erich Senger emigrated to the United States in 1946.

Bernhard Krisch also had a brother, Herrmann Krisch, who was born on 14 March 1877 in Inowrocław. He was murdered on 3 April 1944 in Terezín.

The book was acquired by the Amerika Gedenkbibliothek by incorporating the stock of the Wissenschaftliche Zentralbibliothek Dahlem, which had been founded in 1949.
