Wolf Berlowitz

Stamp: "Dr. Berlowitz prakt. Arzt Stolp [H... 50] Telefon 2706"

Wolf Hirsch Berlowitz was born on 21 July 1885 in Kaunas. He became a physician and practised in Stolp in Pomerania and later in Berlin. Wolf Berlowitz was married to Rosa Klein, who was born on 24 November 1888 in Krojanke. The couple had two daughters: Emmy, born on 28 May 1917 in Scharnikau, and Judith Mathilde, born on 2 November 1918 in Berlin.

In Nazi Germany, the Berlowitz family was persecuted as Jewish. Emmy Berlowitz took her own life on 2 July 1943 in Berlin in the face of her impending deportation. Wolf, Rosa and Judith Berlowitz managed to escape to the United States around 1940.
